DIN ISO 9001: We Set a Standard for Quality and Reliability

For over three decades, the name ZABAG has stood for security, quality, and customized solutions in the field of perimeter protection. As a globally respected provider of high-security solutions, we have our quality management system certified every three years according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. This certification is an official confirmation of what has long been embedded in our daily operations – top-level quality, well-structured processes, and a consistent focus on customer satisfaction.

What is behind DIN ISO 9001?

DIN EN ISO 9001 is the world’s leading standard for quality management. It defines the requirements for a quality management system (QMS) that helps organizations continuously improve their processes, minimize risks, and reliably meet customer expectations.

At its core, it focuses on one primary goal: ensuring customer satisfaction through dependable, transparent, and effective workflows.

Through certification, TÜV SÜD confirms that our internal processes are organized according to international standards and geared toward continuous improvement — an important seal of trust for our partners and customers in over 30 countries worldwide.

The Audit – Our Recertification Process

The foundation of our certification was a comprehensive audit conducted by external experts from TÜV SÜD. All relevant company areas and processes were reviewed — starting with the management evaluation by our executive team to operational processes in production, development, procurement, and sales.

Right at the beginning of the audit, the focus was placed on management responsibility: How is quality management governed within our company? What values and goals shape our actions? And how are these embedded in the organization through leadership and communication?

The answers became clear during the audit — through well-defined structures, transparent objectives, and consistently applied quality standards across all departments.

During the course of the audit, the processes of all departments were thoroughly examined. The main areas of focus: customer orientation, process reliability, and continuous improvement.

  • In Sales, After-Sales, and the Quality Management department, the emphasis was on customer communication, complaint handling, and feedback management.
  • In Procurement and Production — including powder coating, electrical engineering, and final inspection — the spotlight was on quality assurance, monitoring of testing equipment, and maintenance.
  • On construction sites, during assembly, and in product development, processes were documented, evaluated, and aligned with quality standards.
  • Particular attention was paid to Human Resources, as lived quality awareness starts with people: high standards can only be achieved through qualified, authorized, and motivated employees.

Thanks to intensive preparation, cross-team collaboration, and a strong focus on improvement processes, we successfully completed the audit. As of January 1, 2025, we have officially renewed our ISO 9001 certification.

The certification is valid for three years and is accompanied by annual surveillance audits — allowing us to continuously develop and enhance our quality management system.
