Our industrial partners are increasingly under pressure to meet growing security requirements. Especially for companies operating as suppliers within complex value chains, the standards are high — driven not only by legal regulations but also by specific requirements set by large corporations. In this context, securing outdoor areas becomes a critical and fundamental security task.
This was precisely the situation we encountered with our client, M. Busch GmbH & Co. KG. As a supplier to major industrial players, the company is obligated to implement comprehensive access control and perimeter protection measures — both technically and organizationally.
Together with the client, we developed a complete solution that meets all requirements: from structured access control to centralized management via a digital control panel.
Complex Site – Diverse Access Points
The M. Busch site includes multiple access points, each with specific demands:
Heavy vehicle traffic for supplier deliveries
Staff parking areas and pedestrian entrances
Visitor and special vehicle access with defined permissions
The challenge was to integrate the new security components into existing operational and traffic processes — without disrupting ongoing activities. At the same time, the system needed to meet rising security expectations, including fast opening and closing cycles, reliable automation, and comprehensive control.
The solution involved the following systems:
Vehicle Access Control
Sliding gates, both cantilevered and track-guided, to secure supplier entrances
Folding gates for high-traffic entry points — space-saving and efficient
License plate recognition system for automated access of authorized vehicles
Traffic light systems & induction loops for seamless, automated traffic flow control
Pedestrian Access & Separation
ZENTRA EH-120-RS full-height turnstiles secure defined pedestrian entry points
An additional Verso pedestrian passage ensures barrier-free access
Digital Control
All systems can be centrally managed via a custom digital control panel developed by ZABAG
User roles and permissions are freely configurable
Full monitoring and control of all outdoor access points — for both vehicles and people
Our project team supported M. Busch throughout the entire process — from the first consultation and technical planning to final installation and commissioning. The foundation of the project was a close, continuous dialogue about operational workflows, IT systems, internal requirements, and also structural and regulatory conditions.
“We deliver integrated systems tailored precisely to the needs of each facility. The real challenge lies in aligning countless details — from connecting existing systems to managing traffic flows, all while maintaining full security during live operations. Projects like this demonstrate just how crucial our consulting and planning expertise is.”
— Frank Kleiner, Project Manager, ZABAG AG
This project with M. Busch is a prime example of how modern perimeter security must function today. Standard solutions have no place in complex industrial environments. What’s needed are intelligent, scalable systems that align perfectly with company processes and technical infrastructure.
